As a reader who just started in the last few years, I never looked into Nova because the history seemed really complex and daunting. A new Nova felt like a much better place to start with the character. It may confirm their point of view that you're """pandering""" to new readers, but it's a book I wouldn't have looked into if you hadn't made the change.
